Creamed soups are often used as an ingredient in what kind of dishes?

Anywhere that we are too lazy to make a roue for a sauce. My Mom made salmon loaf, and topped it with cream of mushroom, she also made tuna noodle casserole with it.

I make a round steak recipe that simmers the steak, water, and an envelope of Lipton onion soup mix for hours. There are recipes for baked shicken and rice using them. I see soups with the canned stuff as a base.

for info for your homework for your class, go to the Campbell's soup website, and why did you not think of that? Good thing I'm not your teacher, I have had to suggest that to you.
Often they are used as a base for stews and casseroles.

The trouble is they are prone to burning if they aren't stirred regularly
I use cream of mushroom, when I bake pork chops.

I also use cream of chicken for s dish called turketti. It's basically a caserole.
usually casseroles like green bean casserole, or tetrazini. Also as a sauce for chicken or pork chops

I am allergic to hydroquinone, the active ingredient used in skin fade creams. Can anyone rec. a hq free prod?

I have seen a few online but I would like to get feedback from someone that has first hand exp. with HQ-free products. I have recently suffered from a bad breakout and now have scars.I am allergic to hydroquinone, the active ingredient used in skin fade creams. Can anyone rec. a hq free prod?
Get back to basics and avoid commercial skin products completely. These only serve to block your pores so that they can't breathe at all. The lotion or soap itself may feel soothing, but it is doing serious damage in the process.

Get some pine tar soap in either bar or liquid form and wash your face with this. Rinse with a solution of 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% warm water. Pat dry rather than rubbing. Additionally, ingest at least a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every day. You can add it to your apple juice or a glass of water or make a kind of tea with it by adding it to a cup of steaming water or have a salad with apple cider vinegar and oil as the dressing. This will help work on the problem from the inside while you are working on the problem on the surface.

Pine tar soap is a specialty item that might not be readily available in most stores. The best place to find it is on ebay. Just type in the key words ';pine tar soap'; and you will find it readily available by home soap makers. There is a business that caters to primarily back-to-the-land types and the Amish communities called Lehmans. The link to pine tar soap is included below.

Pine tar soap is an effective cleanser for all types of skin problems including acne, psoriasis, eczema, itches, rashes and even diaper rash on babies.

  • Hot dog w/ cream cheese? What is the oddest condiment or ingredient you've received?

Today I was out shopping and decided to buy a hot dog at a stand. I asked for a hot dog with cheese - and it came with CREAM CHEESE.

    1) Has anyone heard of a hot dog coming with cream cheese?

    2) What is the most unexpected or odd condiment / ingredient you've received with a food item?Hot dog w/ cream cheese? What is the oddest condiment or ingredient you've received?
No I have not heard of that before. My most unexpected experience was one time I ordered Mexican food and received mayonnaise in my guacamole. nastyHot dog w/ cream cheese? What is the oddest condiment or ingredient you've received?
When I was in Thailand I had a hot dog like item and they use a chili peanut sauce for it with a spicy papaya like slaw, Here in Canada I have had some of the items of our hot dog carts, corn relish, sliced green olives, hot peppers, green tomato chow-chow, bacon bits and cheddar cheese.
    i'll try almost anything,

but the weirdest thing i have ever gotten on a hotdog was....wait for it......

tomato soup with cream cheese and little goldfish crackers....(my little sister made it for us when we where like 12, years ago)

    oddly.

    it was delicious...

What's the ingredient in anti-wrinkle creams that starts with M?

Supposedly it helps aging wrinkles but not sun damage wrinkles.... can't remember what it is, but I had heard it before. I believe the ingredient starts with an M.What's the ingredient in anti-wrinkle creams that starts with M?
    Melatonin, definitely.

Many biological effects of melatonin are produced through activation of melatonin receptors, while others are due to its role as a pervasive and extremely powerful antioxidant with a particular role in the protection of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA.

Melatonin was released into the general health supplement market in the United States in 1993, and met with good consumer acceptance and enthusiasmWhat's the ingredient in anti-wrinkle creams that starts with M?
Most have methylparaben...but this isn't an active ingredient. It's an anti-mold/preservative found in most skin creams including everything from anti-wrinkle cream to cortisone creams for itching.
    melatonin??

The only 3 ingredient meal I can think of is chili, chips and cheese. Put a layer of tortilla chips on the bottom of a dish, then put some chili, then cheese ... and repeat all 3 til you have a double later. Microwave til chili is warm and cheese is melted. Why would people still use natural ingredient soaps rather than shower cream?

The best satisfying answer will gets point for it. I need it for debate. Why would people still use natural ingredient soaps rather than shower cream?
    1. Beacuse shower creams are more expensive than the soaps.

    2. Many people dont even know what they are. There isnt enough advertising about the 'shower creams' as there is for soaps.

    3. People are more familiar with the names of the soaps.

    4. They have always been using soaps.

    5. People in general dont usually spend too much money on the skin of their body, they like to spend on the face skin, that is why.Why would people still use natural ingredient soaps rather than shower cream?
A lot of people have allergies to unnatural ingredients. Fragrences can cause rashes for some.

I need a recipe that can be frozen after making, whose primary ingredient is heavy whipping cream...ideas?

It's a long and strange story, but I ended up with 15 quarts of heavy whipping cream. Being the resourceful guy I am, I want to cook up a storm with it and give away the results. Having ruled out making enough whipped cream to build the world's biggest edible snowman, I'm looking for ideas that use a minimum of additional ingredients. It kind of defeats the purpose of the find if I spend a zillion dollars on the other ingredients. Someone has the answer to this, I just know it. It would be a huge bonus if the recipe were freezeable, so that I could keep some for myself.I need a recipe that can be frozen after making, whose primary ingredient is heavy whipping cream...ideas?

Can any cream (examples) provide a ';face lift'; like they say they will?what ingredient provides best result?

No cream will give you a face lift, but you can make dramatic changes with a good cream. The problem is people react differently to different ingredients. I recommend signing up for a free trial product to test first. Creams are expensive so you do not want to waste your money. Try Lift SP they have a 14 day free trial I think you pay like a dollar for shipping heres a website

Lancome do a product called Renergee Morpholife RARE, which is a repositioning and refirming cream. It really works. It has 25000 micro lifters in it that give an immediate effect.

Also, they do a mask in the range, called Renergie Morpholift Masque. If you apply this thinly over your moisturiser then it will give you an even more intense tightening effect to the skin - stars going to the BAFTA's used this tip.

its out of date milk thats why its cheap
Soft-serve ice cream is kept soft by churning and is only chilled to about 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit; your freezer is set to about zero. I believe that modern dispensers keep the mixture at just above the freezing point and freeze it while it is in motion as it's being dispensed.
    I dont know

Does anyone know what white crisco is? I'm trying to make a butter cream and it says to use this ingredient

Crisco is a brand name of shortening.. A vegetable oil based grease similar in texture to lard (which is a meat oil based grease)...

Criisco comes in original and butter varieties.. The butter variety is butter flavored and dyed yellow... The original is white in color no added flavor...

You will find it in the baking aisle of your supermarked it comes in a blue #10 (large) can...

    Picture of original Crisco packaging

Picture of butter flavor Crisco packaging

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/dulamae/232鈥?/a>

You need to use the original for butter cream as the dyed butter flavor variety will make the butter cream yellow throwing off any color you attempt to dye it...

When buying shoetening be sure to read the label carefully you want a 100% vegetable based shortening, it will store longer and not have the mild meat type flavor present in lard and mixed base shortenings...

Addition To the poster below butter flavor crisco (dyed yellow) was introduced in the early 1980's

http://www.crisco.com/About_Crisco/Histo鈥?/a>Does anyone know what white crisco is? I'm trying to make a butter cream and it says to use this ingredient
Crisco is a solidified vegetable oil that can be used as a butter substitute in some cases. People grease their pans w/it, bake with it etc....Does anyone know what white crisco is? I'm trying to make a butter cream and it says to use this ingredient
vegetable shortening. But you should be able to find a recipe that just uses butter, and no crisco. Crisco doesn't melt....but it has trans fats in it.
It's shortening. Look for it in the baking aisle, or substitute butter or margarine instead.
Crisco is grease. They sell it at any grocery store, just check where they keep the cooking oil. It should be a blue can.
Yea, its that crisco thats not butter flavored. Blue can and all. Wait, when did crisco come in another color?
    LARD. Staight fat lard.
im pretty sure its a brand of shortening

Can certain ingredients in eye creams cause more lines. Been using ';dermaquest'; products from skin clinic

I was concerned about the dehydration in my cheeks and so my mum and I, decided to go to a skin clinic to see what they suggested. You think by going to a skin clinic that you are getting the best stuff possible. I went for a free consultation and ended up paying 拢175 for a little six pack of what she described as fantastic to me and my mum. My mum only purchased the eye cream. We couldnt wait to get home and try it. The set I got had 2 different facial washes for morning and evening, a serum, a peptide mobiliser that she told me to use around my eyes, and a night firming cream and a day moisturiser. We were told to give it about 6 weeks to see a difference, and we have. I look like I have aged dramatically under the eyes, with more lines than I had to begin with. My mum has had the same results also. We both feel very devestated and angry. I have these horrible fine lines now coming from the inner eye to the top of my cheeks. What can we do. Is there anything to reverse these please. Can certain ingredients in eye creams cause more lines. Been using ';dermaquest'; products from skin clinic
Hi, I use the Dermaquest six pack also. The problem with it is that it exfoliates really well, so you will see lines more clearly. Also, I always notice more lines now when I sleep on my side, because it squishes my face. For some reason I didn't notice it as much until I started using this stuff.

However, I now use Renova (prescription) in the evening, and the Dermaquest moisturizers in the morning, and I've seen some good results. You need to go back to the person who sold you this and explain the situation. See if she has any advice. I have used Oil of Olay with good results in the past, and it's inexpensive.

Hope you get this settled soon! Can certain ingredients in eye creams cause more lines. Been using ';dermaquest'; products from skin clinic
Sorry you're having such poor results with this, however, I have to tell you that eye creams do not give you lines. Aging gives you lines, and smoking, sun damage, etc. exacerbates it. Not sure why Lizzy got a thumbs down, her post was totally accurate.

Go back and see the person who sold you the product. Good luck.
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I used the Susan Molyneux under eye cream and it made the lines under my eyes WORSE ... which leads me to ask the question - What the hell ARE these eye creams doing?
Go back and get your money back and demand a differnet eye cream !
I know this might sound annoying but I find its best not to mess too much with your face or hair. Take pictures of your skin after using these products incase you might want to sue the suckers later. As for repair, I hesitate to tell you but I think a tiny bit of olive oil massaged into the skin helps dryness. Try it on your hands first, if it makes it look and feel better, then try it on your face.

Why is mineral oil an ingredient to avoid in creams and lotions?

I hear you should avoid this ingredient because of something like it doesn't absorb into the skin well???? I'm looking for a good stretch mark cream so I'm guessing it should be free of mineral oil?????Why is mineral oil an ingredient to avoid in creams and lotions?
it makes ur skin soft, u shouldnt avoid itWhy is mineral oil an ingredient to avoid in creams and lotions?
    You definitely should avoid it!

The skin care and cosmetics industry doesn't regulate what companies put into their products, so its ok for them to add mineral oil. Mineral oil is refined petroleum (think the stuff you put into your car!), and you're right- it doesn't absorb into the skin. Check out my website www.natural-skincare-solutions.com to read up on it more, as well as the other ingredients you should avoid as well. I am a huge proponent of Arbonne which is an awesome line you should look into.

Feel free to contact me through my website and I can definitely answer more questions if you like!

    Good luck :) Sara
im not really sure of what you are asking so.... yes it should be free of mineral oil.

  • What is the best ingredient in an anti-aging cream? Is it peptide, calcium, alpha hydoxy, vit. C, E, or other?

If we knew this for certain we would have the proverbial ';Fountain of Youth';.

My opinion only a good moistuizer is essential.

cold pressed seed oils, and antioxidants, a variety of grape ingredients. What is the best ingredient in an anti-aging cream? Is it peptide, calcium, alpha hydoxy, vit. C, E, or other?
Vitamin E as found in fresh ejaculate applied to the face and neck. What is the best ingredient in an anti-aging cream? Is it peptide, calcium, alpha hydoxy, vit. C, E, or other?
I do not know, all of the above I suppose.

A few words of wisdom though, diet, water, exercise, non-smoking and limited drinking and exposure to the sun are some good things you can do for your body and skin...
    avenoo
Vitamin C %26amp; E provide antioxidant protection. Vitamin C also stimulates collagen production.

Calcium; I've never heard of calcium-containing products for skin, so I'm not sure.

Peptides; If you mean Copper Peptides, I would say stay away from this. Its ';anti-aging properties'; were discovered in the 1970s by Dr. Pickart. Research on it is quite minimal and considering that again, its anti-aging properties were only discovered in the 1970s, the long-term effects of its use has not really been proven safe. If you mean other peptides ... well then, ha ha, I don't know. But a good thing to know is whether the peptides could actually penetrate into the epidermis and not just ';sit'; on top of the skin.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are basically chemical exfoliants. They aid in exfoliation so, these are pretty good and they have been used for decades so ...this is safe.

In all, Vitamin C, E, and AHAs are, in my opinion, the best.

By the way, for Vitamin C, don't purchase drugstore brands. For Vitamin C, L-Ascorbic Acid is what should be looked for. Most, if not all drugstore brands, contain other forms of Vitamin C that, overall, are not as effective in protecting the skin and stimulating collagen production.
There is a very good article about anti aging creams in the Oct. '06 issue of Good Housekeeping.

    Either retinol or alphahydroxy acid.

Alphahydroxy acid works as an exfoliant, so it keeps the skin ';new'; by helping it to slough off layers of dead cells for a clearer, fresher complexion. I would recommend also using an exfoliant scrub that contains salicylic acid about once a week for maximum benefit.

Retinol can actually work to improve cell regeneration rate and structure in skin and is most valuable in keeping pores from being clogged.

Both are widely available -- Avon's ANEW line contains both types. If you're paying more than $20 - $25 a jar for skin cream, you're not getting your money's worth -- these two ingredients are top of the line in terms of effectiveness for aging skin.
Vitamin C is also very good for anti-aging.

    That's pretty disgusting.

My 16yr son said well, it's probably healthier, but when I asked him if he would eat it, he said no way.

I cannot imagine how they would make that....will there be billions of lactating women sitting around with breast pumps?
ok first of all thats gross. ROFL, peta is so retarded. god these vegetarians and crap should just give up already seriously. and where would these millions of gallons of breast milk even come from!?
I just saw that on the PETA site!

    Yummy
    That's disgusting
    Barf! That's disgusting!

    So no, I wouldn't. Blech.
    yummy!! For sure!!

I love some of their ice creams.
    ooo gross no
    if it tasted good.

    why not?

Why isn't salad the main ingredient of salad cream?

Beacause it is cream for salad, in the same way face cream isn't made of faces! Why isn't salad the main ingredient of salad cream?
Once you put the salad cream on a salad, then the whole dish becomes 'the salad', so even the salad cream is salad. So salad is the main ingredient of salad cream.

Durh! Why isn't salad the main ingredient of salad cream?
For the same reason that mosquitos aren't the main ingredient of mosquito repellent. and cars aren't the main component of car phones
because its for the salad, its not the actual salad
As its pretty hard to put salad vegetables in a bottle and keep them fresh
just as heamorriods are not the main ingredient of heamorriod cream perhaps
it is a sauce you have with salad!!

well in my sisters case with almost anything!!
DOH! I was gonna say the same as Aoife. Is this a trick question?
because it is cream that goes on salad.

I have scabies Dr. prescribed permethrin is the ingredient in the one time cream. Is this safe?

It's safe unless if you accidentally eat / lick the cream. It's hepatotoxic %26amp; carcinogenic. So remember not to touch your eye or your mouth once you use it.

I copy paste this for you :

Permethrin is extremely toxic to fish. Extreme care must be taken when using products containing permethrin near water sources. Permethrin is also highly toxic to cats. Flea and tick repellent formulas intended (and labeled) for dogs may contain permethin and cause feline permethrin toxicosis in cats: specific flea and tick control formulas intended for feline use, such as those containing fipronil, should therefore be used for cats instead.

Currently, permethrin is not considered a carcinogen by any recognized authoritative body, but a few studies have lead the US EPA to classify the substance as a Category C carcinogen: Possible human carcinogen (the data show limited evidence of carcinogenicity in the absence of human data) Carcinogenic action in nasal mucosal cells for inhalation exposure is suspected due to observed genotoxicity in human tissue samples, and in rat livers the evidence of increased preneoplastic lesions lends concern over oral exposure. However, these results are seen as preliminary and marginal, at best.

Generally, yes, unless you are an insect or a fish. It is the active ingredient in many of the insecticides that say they keep killing for months and that may be used indoors.

    Melatonin, definitely.

Many biological effects of melatonin are produced through activation of melatonin receptors, while others are due to its role as a pervasive and extremely powerful antioxidant with a particular role in the protection of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA.

Soft-serve ice cream is kept soft by churning and is only chilled to about 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit; your freezer is set to about zero. I believe that modern dispensers keep the mixture at just above the freezing point and freeze it while it is in motion as it's being dispensed.

  • Does anyone know what white crisco is? I'm trying to make a butter cream and it says to use this ingredient

Crisco is a brand name of shortening.. A vegetable oil based grease similar in texture to lard (which is a meat oil based grease)...

Criisco comes in original and butter varieties.. The butter variety is butter flavored and dyed yellow... The original is white in color no added flavor...

You will find it in the baking aisle of your supermarked it comes in a blue #10 (large) can...

What is the key ingredient to make the chocolate cake moist? Butter? Applesauce? Sour cream or something else?

I tried a recipes provided by Sugarcraft website and that's supposed to be moist chocolate cake but it didn't turn out moist. In fact, the cake was very crumbly and dry. Please let me know how to make it moist because I followed the exact instructions step-by-step. I do not want to add in extra butter to make it too greasy, so there gotta be a way to make the cake moist. What is the key ingredient to make the chocolate cake moist? Butter? Applesauce? Sour cream or something else?
i,ll let you in on a chefs secret.

chiffon cake...use veg oil..SHhh!What is the key ingredient to make the chocolate cake moist? Butter? Applesauce? Sour cream or something else?
The role of the fat in the mixture is to keep the cake moist and give it an appealing texture, making it pleasant to eat. You shouldn't have to add more fat than the recipe quotes, just make sure the mixture isn't too dry before you bake it and also be certain the cake is not overcooked. It may even be cooked before the recipe says it should be, as all ovens vary in how quickly they cook the cake.
Fat adds moisture. That can be in the form of egg yolks, mayonnaise or vegetable oil. I'd take it easy on the butter. Butter works for cookies, but cakes can become greasy.

I think you've learned a good lesson here too: not every recipe is fool-proof, especially recipes on the interent. Don't beat yourself up too badly. If you want a recipe for a moist chocolate cake, look in the Joy of Cooking or Betty Crocker cookbooks.
    mayonaise, its true.

    About 1/4 cup.

The oil in the mayonaise keps it moist and the vinegar is a preservative.

You wont notice the difference in taste.

Applesauce is the next best, as the acidic sauce base acts like a vinegar (well more of a cider.

But keeping it tightly wrapped helps keep air out and the air makes it stale.

If you can't wrap it tight add a pice of bread inside the packing which absorbs most of the staleness from the air.
What my Late Mother told me and they were always Delicious was to add Pudding mix you know the instant kind. See if you are making a Chocolate Cake you use Chocolate pudding, a Lemon Cake of course you use Lemon pudding. I think you get the point. So give it a try, now sometimes but not always you might have to increase the milk or your liquid but be-careful. I one time over did it and you guess it a baked soup cake (ha-ha) Good luck and don't worry everybody will love it.

Applesauce is wonderful for Bunt style cake
Sour cream and applesauce work well. Actually google Better Homes and Gardens Chocolate Sour Cream Cake - it is very good, moist and chocolaty!

  • Would you guys want to put a cream on your skin if you knew this was one of the ingredients?

    Just curious of other's opinions.

The ingredient is PEG-40 stearate. This is a website that explains what it is and it's use better. I found it among the ingredients in my tube of hand cream I got from Avon. It turns out this is a very common ingredient and I now am not too sure I like having these ingredients on my skin. LOL

Is sour cream a usual ingredient in cheesecake/choc cheesecake?...thanks?

Sour cream as an ingredient that is not necessary, but it helps the cheesecake not dry out and shrink while baking in the oven.

The cheesecake will not crack as much, if used, but If you do not use the sour cream and the cake cracks, the fruit topping will cover the crevice and it will not be visible. With a chocolate cheesecake, the crack is harder to hide. unless you use whipping cream as a topping. Is sour cream a usual ingredient in cheesecake/choc cheesecake?...thanks?

I am making mashed potatoes with sour cream/butter ahead of time, should I put the other ingredients in on the?

I am making a large amount of mashed potatoes for a party on Saturday. I add a lot of sour cream %26amp; butter to it. I want to peel the potatoes ahead of time, mash them before Saturday. What is the best way to do this....Ideally I would love to only do a little at a time....how much can I do ahead %26amp; how much should I wait for the last minute. Could I even make them up today if I wanted (thursday) leave in the fridge til I leave on Saturday....I want them to taste delicious. What do you suggest for the best flavor?I am making mashed potatoes with sour cream/butter ahead of time, should I put the other ingredients in on the?
    .

Go ahead and prepare the entire dish ahead of time. Time saver and still great flavor. Less cooking, more time to socialize.

I prepare mashed potatoes same as you...potatoes, butter, sour cream, salt, pepper . . .

I discovered to do this as I used to prepare mashed potatoes on same day as Thanksgiving. Cooking potatoes, mashing, stirring in ingredients, etc. then served at table.

Then over next day or two we'd have leftovers. I'd heat up the potatoes and they tasted as good, if not better, than when served on Thanksgiving day.

Prepare and cook the mashed potato dish same as you would if making on same day as social event.

Prepare the mashed potato dish, spoon it into a pyrex style glass dish, cover with plastic wrap, store in fridge.

This can be done up to two days ahead, though I usually prepared it the night before.

Day of event, place dish in oven (or microwave) and heat till at desired temp. Stir once or twice during heating to have heat evenly distributed.

Have done this for several years and works out great.

Discovered same could be done for gravy.

If it tastes good for day or two as leftovers...that's a good sign you can make it days ahead before social event.

.I am making mashed potatoes with sour cream/butter ahead of time, should I put the other ingredients in on the?
The best way is to peel the potatoes today, put in fridge covered in water so they dont turn brown. Boil tomorrow early evening and make like normal. Just remember to cool them good before putting in the fridge, use a couple shallow pans if possible, and make sure they are heated up really nice and hot when they are served on Saturday.

I also use sour cream and butter when I make mine - I also add a couple dashes of Parmesan Cheese for a little extra flavor.

    Good Luck!
if you make em now - save the ';flavor'; ingredients till you reheat them before the event - it's okay if you put in the butter and milk for now - and refridgerate em well sealed in a tupperware type container- when

you re zap em, break break into loose chunks- then mash in sour cream and melted butter - but by the table spoon as you re-mash- they will get more creamy and soft - keep em fluffy and not too wet -

mashed potatoes don't stay hot real well- they will get 'hard' and dried out if you leave in a hot crock pot for too long -
Go ahead and cook the potatoes like today or tomorrow. Mash them Saturday morning with the rest of the ingredients and then put them in a crook pot. Heat on low for several hours or on high for about 1 hour or so. I would bring the whole crook pot to the party and plug it back in when you get there. A crock pot is a wonderful way to keep food warm for a long time.
Cook everything that you want..I did the same thing and for the party I threw them in a crock pot, added a little milk and stirred. Put it on high an hour before the party, then on low...

If you peel and cut them up and don't cook them right away - put them covered with water until the time you want to boil them!
you could go ahead and peel them and put them in the fridge in water, make sure the water covers up the potatoes or they will turn brown. I wouldnt cook them until the day that you are going to the party. They would have a weird taste to them if you did them too soon.
I would wait till the day of your party to mash, season, butter and sour cream them. That will re-freshen the taste of the potatoes giving the idea that you just made them that day.. Good Luck!
If you use a waxy potato, just wash and cube them to the size you normally would. Cover with water and seal up container. Thtas about all I would suggest doing early.

PS add some chives or green onion to those, its so good
Make them today and do them all the way. If you don't finish them they get starchy. My tip is to add a little extra liquid so that reheating them does not dry them out. Add some extra milk or chicken stock.

    Have fun

    Ice Cream Ingredient?

We once visited the Bluebell Ice-cream factory in Texas and I heard something that was odd but possible. That one of Ice-creams ingredients had cow Mucus? It is what holds the ice-cream together and keeps it from melting too fast.

How true is it?Ice Cream Ingredient?
Who said that? Some yahoo in the back of the tour? LOL

    Here is Blue Bell's explanation:

    http://www.bluebell.com/learn_about_icec鈥?/a>

Just click on the movieIce Cream Ingredient?
    So not true.
Not true. They use waxes sometimes (paraffin) but people can easily make ice cream at home. They don't require any purchasing of cow mucus.
no, but it contains seaweed, but i herd of peanut and beer flavored ones
    No..
absolutely not, i make ice cream and my holds together just fine without any mucus from anything. like saying you have ocean front property in arizona
there messing with you... water + milk = Ice cream
It's not true at all. Go to allrecipies.com and see how to make ice cream, commercially or homemade....I'm 100% sure it doesn't involve cow mucus.
    Not at all.
    I think it's ice.

  • Is coconut used as an ingredient in ALL of Sonic's cream pie shakes?

I tried to order a chocolate cream pie shake at Sonic tonight, but I only tasted the coconut in it. I came back %26amp; told them my order was wrong, that I got a coconut one by mistake. I asked if I could get a chocolate one, instead. The girl who took the order said that ALL of the cream pie shakes are made with coconut, which didn't make sense to me... Does anyone know if this is true?Is coconut used as an ingredient in ALL of Sonic's cream pie shakes?
Yes, all cream pie shakes at sonic are made with coconut, but you can ask for it not to be in there... some sonics do make things differently... it is supposed to be the same but i work at a sonic and have a friend that works at another sonic location and they make things differently becuase training over the years get messed up...Is coconut used as an ingredient in ALL of Sonic's cream pie shakes?
    Not all of them.

While cookin, wat does the ingredient half-and-half stand for?? also is cream cheese the same as cheese cubes??

can i use cheese spread as a substitute for cream cheese??also wat is all purpose flour,is the same as corn-flour..???While cookin, wat does the ingredient half-and-half stand for?? also is cream cheese the same as cheese cubes??
Half and half of half cream and half milk, but cream cheese is NOTHING like cream cheese and should not be used as a substitute!!!!! If a recipe calls for cream cheese it is for the taste and texture (think cheese cake- you would never want cheese cubes used instead of cream cheese right? Same thing). Also, all-purpose flour is white and fine powder, used for anything needing thickening... corn flour is used to corn bread and corn related things and is yellow and grainy... never use corn flour in place of all purpose. And lastly, NEVER use cheese spread as a substitute for cream cheese.. like I said- if it calls for cream cheese- USE CREAM CHEESE! :)

Good luck, it sounds like you're going to need it.. :)While cookin, wat does the ingredient half-and-half stand for?? also is cream cheese the same as cheese cubes??
Half and half is half cream and half milk. You can buy it in the dairy section of your store and it will say that. it usually comes in cardboad pints. Cheese cubes can come in many varieties although it is usually american cheese or cheddar cheese. Yes you could probably substitute cheese spread for cream cheese. all purpose flour is nothing like corn flour.

Muslims ONLY - is it haram if i put on a cream on my face if it contains alcohol in the ingredients?

No, in fact you are free to use alcohol for medical reasons. Many medicines contain alcohol, it is only disallowed to use it for the effect it has on you.Muslims ONLY - is it haram if i put on a cream on my face if it contains alcohol in the ingredients?
“O Believers’ do not approach Salâh while intoxicated.”

    (Surah Nisaa)

“O Allah! Grant us a clear cut for regarding alcohol.”

';O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatry and arrows (for seeking help on decision) one an abomination of order that you may be successful.

Shaytan seeks only to cast amongst you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from his worship, will you then not refrain? ”

    (Surah Ma’idah 90)

Well, from a few verse regarding the usage of alcohol is forbidden in Islam is in terms of ';drinking'; it because, ';drinking alcohol'; is the major cause of so many social illness and also health problems(as we can see clearly today),

However, in terms of external usage for example like alcohol content in face cream is allowed in islam, the same goes to alcohol in perfumes, but remember, the use of alcohol of these kind is permitted but not to be brought to prayer.Muslims ONLY - is it haram if i put on a cream on my face if it contains alcohol in the ingredients?
    im a muslim

i once used a face cream with alcohol without knowing

but later when i read the bottle i saw it said with alcohol i asked my mom if its ok to use it and she said its fine because your not drinking it or anythink

so as long as its not some thing you eat or drink i geuss its ok
    Putting face cream is fine.

But the reason why face cream WITH ALCOHOL is haraam because Alcohol is a side-effected liquid with elements that can be harmful with body contact when applied too much.

Furthermore, Muslims thinks that alcohol is the Devil's pee.
    no.

what type of alcohol ? there are dozens. Fruit contains alocohols, so do a lot of other things you eat. Are you going to stop eating ?

EDIT: Cetyl alcohol will give you a bad case of diarrhea at best, if you drink it, go ahead...

    You are very Muslim.
It's haram. Don't use face cream.

  • How do premium ice creams such as Dreyer鈥檚 compare to a store brand like Safeway with regards to ingredients?

I know if its ';premium'; it has less air incorporated in it, making it creamier. I wouldn't eat generic brands like safeway, because they use strange chemicals and who knows what else. The best brand to buy is Bryers, its all natural..the fewer ingredients the better! How do premium ice creams such as Dreyer鈥檚 compare to a store brand like Safeway with regards to ingredients?
if you take the actual weight of ice cream that has been whipped up with air and compare to the weight of a name brand ice cream that doesn't put the air you will see a big change

urine is made up of salt, water, urea and other products from chemical reactions that have happened in the body

    hope i helped ?

even though so many people before m have probably said the same thing

    xx
urea is a by product of urine
it's mainly protein, it's one of the things contained in pee, but not pee itself, don't worry, lol :)
Urea is a part of your urine. Bathing feet in urine is known to toughen the skin and prevent blisers, hence the army practice of peeing in the shower.
The definition in the dictionary is:-

Biochemistry. a compound, CO(NH2)2, occurring in urine and other body fluids as a product of protein metabolism.
No No, too organic for me. If you have cracked skin on you heel??? then the very best solution I have found is Vaseline, it acts as a barrier to prevent other infections and also softens the skin hence stops the sore cracking.

    Good luck
Read the second definition on Google:

I always add butter to my cream cheese frosting. With the ratio of ingredients you are using, 1/4 cup of softened butter should do the trick. What ingredient am i missing for my cream cheese icing?
I would put the rest of the cream cheese and 1 stick of butter (butter that has been allowed to sit out for a couple hours to come to soft/room temp, but not melted!!!).

Can i turn milk into cream by just beating it? because i want to make ice cream and cream is main ingredient?

No....milk is designated by the percent of fat in it...hence 2% has two percent per volume. This means that all but 2% of the fat has been removede (per volume)......if u want cream, buy cream. Can i turn milk into cream by just beating it? because i want to make ice cream and cream is main ingredient?
if you beat milk enough it turns into foam. so no you cant. if you want to make ice cream use only full fat heavy cream.. the cheap stuff you buy in the store has alot of preservatives as well as additives to make it not freeze up. when you make your ice cream out of solely.. cream, sugar, flavoring, and eggs yolks then it will freeze up solid.. making ice cream is a really simple and you can have alot of fun with it thinking of new flavors and everything. .. curry ice cream?? think about it!Can i turn milk into cream by just beating it? because i want to make ice cream and cream is main ingredient?
    No.

Cream is a portion of milk and, in most milks (2%, 1%, Skim) is mostly removed.

Un-homogenized milk, milk straight from the cow, will separate into layers if left to stand for a few minutes. What floats to the top is cream, a thicker and higher in fat portion of the milk.

When making the milk you probably have in your fridge the processing plant will remove all of the cream and then add some back in to the rest of the milk to make the different fat contents of milk you see in the grocery store.

So no, you can't turn milk into cream, although you can make ice milk (which is basically ice cream made with milk) with what you have. You just have to bear in mind that the fat content of cream disrupts the formation of ice crystals in ice cream and is the reason for its smooth mouth feel. Try looking around online for ice milk recipes and suggestions, it is possible to make a smooth ice milk although it is much more difficult to get the same texture as ice cream using milk alone.
a little salt and sugar will help and keep beating
No. Cream is the fat part of the milk. In order to get cream from milk, you would need to get unhomogenized milk and let it stand until the cream rose, then skim the cream off.

You'll need to go back to the store to get some heavy whipping cream.
No if you try beating milk it will just get frothy

Some suggestions from a substitution website are:

    1 C heavy cream = 戮 C milk + 1/3 C butter (unsalted!)

blend equal parts milk and cottage cheese

Or you can try just using milk. It will probably just give you a lighter less creamy ice cream!

Although I would recomend just buying cream it will taste better.
I dont know but here are some recipes.

I would think they mean heavy whipping cream...you can find it with the half and half and creamer'sWhat does 3 tablespoon of cream mean? for the ingredients of sugar cookies?
It probably means light cream or half-n-half. If you have either of those, or evaporated milk - use that. If you don't - milk will work. The cream makes it richer.
i think this means some kind on heavy cream or whipping cream
I would think that it means whipping cream. You can find it in the dairy section by the buttermilk and milk.
I think they mean heavy or whipping cream - but I bet sour cream would actually be pretty delicious.
I think that it means cereal or whipping cream. 1/2 %26amp; 1/2 will do so will milk work. Sour cream or yogurt will also work

BUT if you use the sour cream or yogurt you must add about 1/4 tsp of baking soda to it.
cream is something you buy at the store it is like milk but it is really thick and has a lot of fat in it. you can not use sour cream or anything else with the word ';cream'; in it... cooking doesn't work that way.
    i think its milk

My mom got a gallon of cream from my uncle (who works at a dairy) one time. She was worried it was going to go bad so she whipped it all up and put it on the table with a huge bowl of peaches. We ate it all, but it was the first %26amp; last time in recorded history that my teenage brother ever declared himself too full to eat another thing! LOL!I have got thickened cream how can i use it wid less ingredients?

What ingredient(s) makes Dairy Queen ice cream so smooth?

It seems to me that Dairy Queen soft serve is a cut above the other soft serves I have tried. What ingredient(s) makes Dairy Queen ice cream so smooth?
dairy queen has always used soft serve mix with a higher fat content then most competitors. they use the same machines as everyone else usually Taylor or some use cold-elite. many restaurants don't use soft serve they use ice milk and you can tell the difference. What ingredient(s) makes Dairy Queen ice cream so smooth?
That's just because you haven't tried a cone from Dairy Dell in Louisville, KY. One of the only good things about this God forsaken place.

I think Dairy Queen uses Elmer's glue in theirs.
They probably churn it more vigorously/longer or it has more milk in it.
I'm not too sure about the ingredients, but I don't think it's that much different from normal ice cream.

What I DO know is that it's kept as a somewhat thick liquid until moments before it's served to you. The liquid (';mix';) is pumped through a tube into the machine, where it freezes into soft serve and comes out of the nozzle.

  • Why does Gilette shaving cream have isobutane, propane, and Nonoxonol-9 as ingredients???

I just looked on the can!Why does Gilette shaving cream have isobutane, propane, and Nonoxonol-9 as ingredients???
As above, the alkanes are inexpensive propellants. The nonoxynol-9 is a nonionic surfactant with antimicrobial properties. So, it probably helps the foaming and is a preservative. Why does Gilette shaving cream have isobutane, propane, and Nonoxonol-9 as ingredients???
Environmentally safe propellents. Starting using about 20 years ago instead of harmful flourocarbons.
Isobutane and propane are propellants to get it out of the can as a foam. As for nonoxynol-9, that is a spermicide used in a lot of condom brands, but I think it's also for lubrication.
well, did you let some out of the can so you could taste it? How do you know it's not cherry whipped topping? LOL
