Do restaurant mashed potatoes typically have butter, cream and any other added fatty ingredients?

I'm going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving and I was wondering if the mashed potatoes at the restaurant are all natural or are they added with butter, cream or any other added fatty ingredient?

You can ask the server to ask the chef for you, but yes, restaurant mashed potatoes do usually contain butter and cream. If you eat them, eat sparingly, no more than a couple of bites. Stick to veggies, lean protein, etc. My blog (below) has some more tips for avoiding overindulgence on the holidays, so feel free to check it out. Good luck!
That is a big, resounding ';Yes!';

Typically, mainstream chefs are trained to use butter, cream and salt freely.

That is why things taste so good...but if you are looking for low-fat meals, you need to either eat at a place known for its healthy fare, or, perhaps make a special request to the chef, by way of your server.

Gobble, gobble! ;-)
yes, yes and yes -- butter or butter-like substance
Usually yeah they do, have the baked potato instead
